The Running Stitch - this is the most basic embroidery stitch that you can learn but it's very versatile. You can use it for outlines, lettering or filling.

The Whipped Running Stitch
The Whipped Running Stitch uses the running stitch as it's base stitch. This is a great stitch for outlines and lettering. You could also use it for stems or stalks of plants, if you used two shades of green for example.

The Threaded Running Stitch
This stitch uses the Running Stitch as the foundation stitch. It's a very decorative little stitch and very easy to do.
